Note from the President

February 2003

NETO/EDSAT’s agenda focuses on distance education, the application of advance technologies, and the need to develop hemispheric and global information, education health-care and other public goods to eliminate poverty and illiteracy, to strengthen democracy and grow social and economic development.

NETO/EDSAT continues to focus on the need to aggregate the education and health-care resources and buying power to gain equitable access, and governance of space and land-based technologies around the globe.

NETO/EDSAT’s 15th Anniversary marks the brink of an exciting “Global Education Strategy”. Over one third of Americas’ countries, many US and Canadian education institutions, the private sector and civil society organizations are collaborating to bring affordable and equitable access to basic quality education and health-care services to all Americas’ children.

We are off to a running start for the New Year. We hope it is the same with you and your organization. We appreciate your continuing support. Let us hear from you.
